School Grounds

In addition to a school pond and conservation area,

we have a forest play area in which our key stage 2

children thoroughly enjoy exploring, making dens

and learning to play safely.

We enjoy the benefits of having a vast school field, which all children can make use of during break times, as well as hosting school football matches and sports day.

One of the most popular additions to our outside

space is the sandpit, which is used by children of all

ages.At break times it's always a hive of activity,

inspiring creative play, communication and cooperation.

We continually aim to improve our school grounds to make best use of space for the benfit of the children. One example is the development of our Foundation Stage area, where the children can safely explore the outside environment and continue their creative learning through play.

In addition to our two climbing frames and various playground games markings, the children enjoy playing

on the Trim Trail. Children of all ages are able to access

this equipment, challenging their agility, promoting their fitness and extending their enjoyment at break times.

We were very lucky indeed to win the Wallace and Gromit competition to design a vegetable patch. It has enabled us to develop an extensive vegetable patch within the school grounds, which all the chidlren have been able to contribute to. We have successfully grown potatoes, pumpkins, courgettes, onions and garlic, to name but a few. One of our courgettes even won a prize at a local agricultural show!
